Administrative Coordinator
The Administrative Coordinator at Flow Water Advocates is a skilled problem solver who enjoys anticipating the needs of a dynamic nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the Great Lakes. This team member is central to the daily operations of our office, coordinating all administrative responsibilities, managing the physical workspace, and providing key support to staff. Key duties include office and facilities management, fundraising support, technology administration, and staff and board support.
Reports to: Executive Director
Position status: At-will employment, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Non-Exempt; part-time hourly position based on 10-20 hours per week.
Compensation: $23/hour
2026-2028 Environmental Law Fellow
The 2-year Environmental Law Fellow will support Flow Water Advocates’ legal work to defend the Great Lakes ecosystem, under the supervision of the Legal Director, working closely with a second Environmental Law Fellow hired in alternate years (i.e., 2025-2027, 2027-2029). The role primarily involves developing a portfolio of legal and policy assignments that strengthen the Fellow’s professional skills and advance Flow Water Advocates’ strategic objectives. This will include using state and federal laws to address threats to Great Lakes Basin water resources and the public trust therein, assisting with development of legislation to expand protections, and collaborating on policy interventions. The Environmental Law Fellowship is an opportunity to do front-line legal advocacy protecting one of the most precious global resources, 40% of the planet’s freshwater, from the four-season playground of Traverse City, on beautiful Lake Michigan.

Position Status: At-will employment, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) exempt-level,
salaried position based on 40 hours per week. Benefit package includes paid time off, health insurance, and retirement account.
Annual salary: $72,660
